Align MPLS Fall 2024 Organizing Guide

Congregational Organizing is vital to the work Align Minneapolis does in addressing homelessness. Our Campaign Guide provides ample opportunity for values and beliefs to meet action and praxis. Whether directly serving someone experiencing homelessness or advocating for laws and policies that creates more affordable housing or better serves our unsheltered neighbors, each act of engagement either introduces, inculcates, or reinforces faith inspired values.

STREET VOICES OF CHANGE: People with lived experience of homelessness driving change in their community

The voices of people with lived experience of homelessness are central to addressing homelessness. Within Align Minneapolis, we believe partnering with people with lived experience of homelessness is foundational to our work- we can’t do this work without people with lived experience. Street Voices of Change is a group of people with lived experiences of homelessness working for change in their community. Street Voices is supported administratively by Align and two Street Voices of Change members are part of the Align Steering Committee. The priorities and goals of Street Voices of Change inform the organizing work of Align and we create bridges between housed and unhoused communities to work together to address homelessness.
